Books For Summer Reading

Great summer reading should be entertaining and fun. I love big family dramas, psychological thrillers and breezy romances for reading outside, by a pool, and on vacation. The best books are even their own vacation—transporting you away from your everyday life.

Some of my favorite books by writers I love to read in the summer:

  • Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid
  • One Day I Shall Astonish the World by Nina Stibbe
  • All Together Now by Matthew Norman
  • People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry. I’m reading Book Lovers by the same author now and it’s a perfect summer book!

Books I‘ve enjoyed already this summer:

  • Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan
  • Tracy Flick Can’t Win by Tom Perotta
  • Hurricane Girl by Marcy Dermansky
  • Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen

“If you want a good summer read, you can’t go wrong with Elin Hilderbrand, the ‘Queen’ of summer novels. Hilderbrand sets her summer fare in Nantucket, her actual home, and this year it’s “Hotel Nantucket.” Give it a try!

Some others that will make you forget the summer heat!

James Patterson summer reads:

  • Run Rose Run written with Dolly Parton
  • James Patterson: the Stories of my Life
  • The President’s Daughter written with Bill Clinton
  • The President is Missing

The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present by Paul McCartney- A must read for all Beatles fans. Even if George was your favorite!

Happy Summer Reading!
