On the global front, this year saw the marathon record brought closer to the magic 2 hour time by Eliud Kipchoge of Kenya who ran Berlin in 2:01:39. Desi Linden accomplished another amazing feat by becoming the first American to win the Boston marathon since 1985. Although the Greater Albany area cannot claim anything as spectacular as this, 2018 saw some great races. The Stockade-athon particularly stood out with the top four runners coming in within seconds of each other. Click here for video of photo finish taken by Josh Merlis.
