Shrader Scholarship Deadline Nears

Frank Broderick, HMRRC’s Executive VP and Scholarship Committee Chair, wants to get the word out. Section 2 high school runners who intend to continue their running careers in college or community college have an opportunity to defray at least a portion of their college costs by applying for a Shrader Scholarship. These $3,000 non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to applicants by May 1 after review by the Scholarship Committee.

Applicants are evaluated on the basis of their running experience (cross country and/or track and field), their extra curricular activities, letters of reference, and an essay on the importance of running in their lives. In short, some effort is involved in the application process, and time is of the essence. Additional information about the Scholarship program and an application may be found by clicking here.

Club members should encourage high school runners to look into this opportunity.

The Shrader Scholarships are in honor of long-time club member (and founder) Bill Shrader.
