Hall of Fame Award

HMRRC’s Hall of Fame (HOF) honors individuals who have earned extraordinary distinction as a member of the HMRRC. If you know an exceptional current or former HMRRC member who is a leader in the local running community, either as a competitive runner and/or as a volunteer, now is the time to recommend that member for consideration as a candidate for the 2025 HOF. The guidelines used to select a candidate are listed further below in this email.

You will find information on past HOF awardees HERE.

Recommendations should include the candidate’s name and detailed supporting information (based on the HOF criteria) and be sent via email to me at csliwin33@gmail.com

in the summer of 2026.

Distinguished Service Award

Each year, the members of the Hudson Mohawk Road Runners Club (“HMRRC”) have the opportunity to nominate and designate a fellow club member for their Distinguished Service to the club.  In September, the 2025 designee will have the honor of having the Distinguished Service race run in their honor.

The Distinguished Service Award is given to an individual whose volunteer activities on behalf of the HMRRC have contributed significantly to HMRRC and the running community.

The people who have been designated in the past have provided many, many hours of hard work and dedication to HMRRC.  Much of this work is behind the scenes, but it is essential in allowing the club to fulfill its many goals.  Distinguished service may include working finish lines at races; serving on the Board of Directors; chairing a committee; directing a race, or all the other countless jobs/duties that need to be performed in order for our club to function and do the great things that it does.  The person’s standing in the general running community may be relevant but should be secondary to the efforts put forth for HMRRC.  The award has been handed out to worthy volunteers since 1972.  For a complete list, click:  Distinguished Service Award Recipients

Voting on the nominees will take place via an online poll of current members starting in the end of July and finalized at the August Board meeting.  All members are welcome to attend the meeting virtually via Zoom.
