Notes: 1980 was the inaugural year. This event was known as the Manufacturers Hanover Capital Challenge ("Manny-Hanny") from 1980-84, the Manufacturers Hanover Corporate Challenge from 1985-91, the Chemical Bank Corporate Challenge from 1992-95, the The Chase Corporate Challenge from 1996-2000, the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge in 2001 and the GHI Workforce Team Challenge since 2002. The event was directed by (HMRRC) committee from 1980-82, by Carter Andersson-Wintle from 1983-92, by Al Maikels from 1993-2003, by Mark French from 2004-05, and by Pete Newkirk starting in 2006. The 1980-1994 Course was two loops around the Empire State Plaza Course (a killer hilly course!) ending on the plaza near the "pool of reflections." In 1995 the race adopted the Freihofer Run for Women course, more or less. In 2009 the course was changed slightly to overcome runner congestion in the park. The 2009 event had 7,700 participants.
